Grand Canyon National Park,
                    An April Snow
When people think of Arizona they don't usually think of snow and freezing weather. In the high country and the Grand Canyon there can be temperatures below 20 degrees Fahrenheit late in the spring and early in the fall. The North Rim closes in late October or early November. On this day, in late April, there was snow on the ground in Flagstaff in the morning and snow blowing horizontally at times on the South Rim.
The snow almost looks like clouds or mist and at times appears to evaporate before reaching the bottom of the Canyon...
and brings yet another aspect to viewing  nature at work...
as here and there the sun breaks through, bringing out the brilliant colors to contrast against the storm darkened Canyon walls.
