Zion National Park, in Southwestern Utah, encompasses an area of natural beauty in a gorge carved by the Virgin River. |
Where ever you look when you drive through Zion there is beautiful scenery which includes colorful and varied rock formations. |
Zion is a favorite of rock climbers. The left and center pictures are of the same climbers, taken at the same time, at normal distance and closeup. They can be seen near the bottom and center of the middle picture, along the edge of the shadow. The right picture is of a climber in a different area of the park. |
To the left is part of a trail that rises from the bottom of the gorge and ascends to several pools that have formed in the upper sides of the wall, on the left of the picture below right. The picture below left is the Virgin River. |
